In 1998, only products won awards—but what about the people?
Laptop of the Year, Printer of the Year, and PC Magazine’s Editor’s Choice awards were common, but it was a start-up called Intellinet that noticed the real heroes were the people behind the products.
The inaugural Georgia ORBIE Awards were established to recognize exceptional technology leaders, paving the way for the creation of GeorgiaCIO, a national membership organization comprised of C-level technology leaders from public and private businesses, government, education, healthcare, and nonprofit institutions.
Today, the ORBIE is the preeminent executive recognition for C-suite leaders.
Since 1998, the ORBIE Awards have recognized leadership excellence, fostered executive relationships, and inspired the next generation of leaders.
Finalists and winners are selected through an independent peer-adjudicated process led by prior ORBIE recipients. Since its inception, the ORBIE Awards have recognized more than 5,000 finalists, with over 800 leaders receiving this prestigious award.
